Hard Wood with tight grains like maple, cherry or walnut
Inexpensive Acrylic Craft Paints (for a specific reason)
Shellac Wood Sealer

paper towels (ripped in small pieces)
Sandpaper (180 and 220 grit)
Quality Painters tape (I used 2″ wide Scotts Sharp Lines Blue Tape)
Small silicon brush or plastic scraper

Respirator rated for chemical fumes
Nitrile gloves

Bandsaw (to cut out your board and coasters)

Air Compresser with nozzle

Plastic Risers (I just use tops to my Stoks iced coffee)
