The OLED Waste Nobody Recovers | Gradient Sublimation | Omni R&D
OLED displays are made by vacuum evaporation of small-molecule organics, including iridium emitters that rank among the most expensive molecules in electronics. By industry accounts, most of the material never reaches the screen; it coats shields and masks and is scraped off and disposed of. We found no published route to recover it for display use. Yet gradient sublimation, the process used to purify every OLED material in the first place, separates molecules by their sublimation temperature in a multi-zone vacuum tube.
Omni R&D SUB-100 (lab-scale, 5-zone) and SUB-300 (production-scale, glovebox option) gradient sublimation systems.
