Semi-Automatic Thick Sheet Vacuum Forming Machine | TPE Car Floor Mat Forming & Trimming Process
This video shows the trimming stage of a TPE automotive floor mat produced with our semi-automatic thick sheet vacuum forming machine.
Before reaching this step, the product goes through a complete thermoforming process:
1. Thick Sheet Loading
TPE or TPV thick sheet is placed into the loading frame and securely clamped to keep the material stable during heating and forming.
2. Controlled Heating
The sheet enters a closed heating chamber with controlled heating zones.
Uniform heating helps the material reach the correct forming condition while reducing overheating, uneven softening and thickness variation.
3. Vacuum Forming
After heating, the softened sheet moves above the CNC-machined mold.
The forming frame seals the working area and the vacuum system pulls the material tightly against the mold.
In one forming cycle, the machine can create:
• 3D automotive floor mat contours
• Raised side walls
• Anti-slip patterns
• Drainage grooves
• Complex deep-drawn structures
4. Cooling & Demolding
The cooling system stabilizes the formed TPE part and helps reduce rebound and deformation.
After cooling, the semi-finished car mat is removed from the machine.
5. Manual Precision Trimming
This is the process shown in the video.
Operators remove the excess material around the formed part and refine the edges before final inspection and packaging.
Good trimming starts with good forming.
If heating is unstable, vacuum pressure is insufficient or the mold does not match the machine correctly, the semi-finished product may have uneven edges, poor contours or forming defects that increase downstream processing work.
