A full scene engraved on a 24×12 black granite tile. This is an older piece of mine.
One thing to know before you try this on the bigger tiles: watch for warpage. Not every large tile comes dead flat, and on a full scene you will see it in the engraving as a soft or light spot long before you would ever notice it holding the tile. Set it on the bed and check it first, and shim it if you need to. The smaller tiles are far more forgiving.
Black granite tiles like this one come from Lowes or Home Depot. They are grainy compared to monument stock but they work well for memorial markers, garden stones and full scenes.
