Bambu H3C vs P3C: The Toolheads Aren’t the Big Deal..
Bambu Lab has officially teased the H3C for November 3rd, while leaks surrounding the upcoming P3C suggest something potentially even more interesting: a machine with as many as seven toolheads/nozzles.
But the number of toolheads isn’t what interests me most.
After running multiple toolchangers in our print farm, including the Snapmaker U1, Flashforge Creator 5 and Creator 5 Pro, I’m much more interested in what Bambu could do with the WORKFLOW surrounding toolchanging.
Bambu already has one of the most polished ecosystems I’ve used. If they combine that experience with low-waste toolchanging, the P3C could force the rest of the toolchanger market to rethink not only workflow, but pricing.
In this video, I’m talking about:
• Why the P3C interests me more than the H3C
• Why seven toolheads aren’t the biggest story
• Bambu’s biggest potential advantage: workflow
• Where I think H3C and P3C pricing could land
• Why these machines could shake up the toolchanger market
• The walled-garden question
• AMS backwards compatibility
• Whether I’d actually buy a P3C for our print farm
This isn’t a review, and there is still plenty we don’t officially know about the P3C. This is where I’m at based on the information currently available and, more importantly, what I’m watching for as someone already using toolchangers in a production environment.
