AlienCell X1 Laser Engraver Review – Linux OS, Klipper-Style Firmware, Closed-Loop XY

In this video, I review the AlienCell X1 laser engraver, a next-generation diode laser featuring a Linux operating system, Klipper-style firmware, and closed-loop XY motion control. The AlienCell X1 is designed for high-speed engraving and cutting, reaching up to 600mm/s while maintaining accuracy using input shaping and closed-loop stepper motors.

I test the AlienCell X1 with 20W, 40W, and 60W laser modules, comparing photo engraving quality, high-speed vector engraving, thick wood cutting, and performance on materials like acrylic, slate, coated aluminum, leather, and stainless steel. I also compare the AlienCell X1 against other popular diode laser engravers to see how it stacks up in real-world use.
