Japan’s 3D Printing Scene Is Wild — Inside JRRF 2026

Japan’s 3D printing scene is seriously alive. I travelled to JRRF — the Japanese RepRap Festival in Tokyo — to see what makes Japan’s maker community so different, and honestly, this event completely surprised me. From custom RepRap-style printers and tool changers to filament brands, hotend tech, creator-made machines, maker chips, and our first ever Death Racers battle in Japan, this was one of the most interesting 3D printing events I’ve been to.

🎯This video is sponsored by **PCBWay**. If you need custom PCBs, CNC machining, brackets, plates, enclosures, sheet metal, 3D printing, or prototype-to-production manufacturing for your own projects, check them out here: https://pcbway.com/g/M3R75n

🎯This trip was supported by Snapmaker! Also its their 10th anniversary so they have lowered the price of the snapmaker U1 $849 – https://snapmaker.sjv.io/o42ZYW

In this video, I speak with some of the biggest and most interesting names in 3D printing, including Snapmaker, Polymaker, E3D, EIBOS, Infimech, CaliLab, and more, to find out what they brought to JRRF and where desktop 3D printing is heading next.

This isn’t just another trade show. JRRF feels like a proper community event — makers, engineers, brands, hobbyists, and absolute mad geniuses all showing what they’ve built.

Big thanks to Snapmaker for helping make this Japan trip possible, and to Yoto for enabling us to be part of the event. After seeing how successful JRRF has become, it’s absolutely our intention to return next year with the Death Racers — bigger, better, and hopefully with even more carnage.

And of course, thanks to Polymaker for their continued support of the channel:
