How I’d Get My First Laser Customer Without Running Ads

Struggling to get your first laser engraving customer? In this video, I share how I’d find customers for a laser business without spending money on Facebook or Instagram ads.

Getting customers is one of the hardest parts of starting a laser engraving business. You can have great equipment, make quality products, and post on social media every day, but that doesn’t mean orders will automatically start coming in.

If I had to start my laser business over with zero customers, I’d take a different approach. Instead of immediately paying for advertising, I’d find a handful of local businesses and make personalized samples specifically for them.

In this video, I walk you through exactly how I’d approach it, based on my experience running Summit Imprint.

I’ve had businesses love the samples I made and never place an order. I’ve also seen opportunities come from putting my work directly in front of people.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that not every sample needs to turn into an immediate sale to be worthwhile. You’re building local connections, creating content, testing products, and getting your work in front of potential customers.

This isn’t a guaranteed way to land customers, and I’m definitely not saying paid ads don’t work. It’s simply the approach I’d take if I were starting from scratch today.

Whether you’re starting a laser engraving business, selling custom hats, making promotional products, or struggling to find consistent customers, I hope this gives you a few ideas you can try in your own business.
