3/4”-24 threads?! Ain’t nobody got a tap for that!

Ah, job shopping; Lakewood Machine is designing and building a machine for a customer, part of which they need a special solenoid for. Of course, the solenoid has 3/4”-24 threads, and while Ian could have just used an off-the-shelf nut, “cobbled together” isn’t exactly the goal he aims for when doing custom work.

So, Ian had this threadmill on the shelf from another job (hence the length), and into the @HaimerGermany shrink fit it goes! He likes to run all threadmills in shrink fit whenever possible as the low runout means better threads in less passes.
