Bambu Lab R1: What the Reviewers Are Saying (Will I Buy It?)
The reviews are out for the Bambu Lab R1 55W CO2 laser cutter, and while I dont have one myself I thought I could do a review roundup. The general thoughts are its a great machine with a high level of hardware quality at an attractive price. Its not cheap by any means, but considering its competition xTool it fits right in line with them. The main criticism is that the software needs some work. Not terrible but just needs some refinement which Bambu seems pretty active towards. Overall its a great 55W CO2 cutter for the everyday user.
*CORRECTION* In this video I said that FauxHammer trusts Bambu Lab has the capability to get there. That’s not accurate, and he’s kindly clarified it. What he actually said was that, based on what Bambu did with the software early on, they understand what people want from a UX perspective. He was more cautious than I made it sound and didn’t claim any certainty that they will get there. Apologies to FauxHammer for the misrepresentation, and thanks for setting the record straight.
