Changes of State: Sublimation – GCSE Physics



🦊 In this GCSE Physics video, we explain that sublimation is the process where a solid transitions directly into a gas without first becoming a liquid, occurring under certain pressure conditions. It highlights that this process is rare and typically happens with substances that cannot exist in a liquid state at specific pressures, such as dry ice (solid carbon dioxide), which sublimates at room temperature. While examples of sublimation aren’t required for exams, the video notes that it is essential to understand the concept and its relationship to changes in state.
