I Engraved a TINY Warhammer 40K Book with a UV LASER 😳
I engraved a tiny book for my Warhammer 40,000 Dark Angel… with a UV laser. 📖⚔️
One of the things I wanted to try with the xTool F2 Ultra UV from @xtool.official / @xtool.eu was whether I could use it directly as part of my miniature painting workflow.
For this Dark Angel, I wanted to add incredibly small details to the book without having to paint every single mark by hand.
The idea is actually quite simple: the UV laser can remove the outer layer of paint and reveal the primer underneath, creating the design directly on the painted surface.
The important part is getting the parameters right. You need to adjust them carefully so the laser removes only the layer you want and the engraving remains clean at such a tiny scale.
I think this opens up some very interesting possibilities for banners, books, symbols and other tiny details on miniatures.

Una de las cosas que quería probar con la xTool F2 Ultra UV de @xtool.official / @xtool.eu era hasta qué punto podía integrarla directamente en mi proceso de pintura de miniaturas.
En este Dark Angel quería añadir detalles extremadamente pequeños al libro sin tener que pintar cada una de las marcas a mano.
La idea en realidad es bastante sencilla: el láser UV puede retirar la capa exterior de pintura y dejar al descubierto la imprimación que hay debajo, creando así el diseño directamente sobre la superficie pintada.
La parte importante es ajustar muy bien los parámetros, para retirar únicamente la capa que queremos y conseguir que el grabado quede limpio incluso a una escala tan pequeña.
Creo que esto abre posibilidades muy interesantes para estandartes, libros, símbolos y otros pequeños detalles en nuestras miniaturas.
