The Race for the Ultimate Multi-Tool 3D Printer Is Heating Up

Prusa has started shipping the CORE One + INDX Founders Edition, InfiMech has revealed two completely different multi-tool platforms, FlashForge continues rolling out the Creator 5 series, and now a newcomer called LightMake has entered the conversation with a completely different approach to multi-material printing.

Instead of swapping tools, the LightMake L4 gives each print head its own independent motion system, opening the door to mirror mode, duplication mode, different nozzle sizes, and potentially eliminating traditional tool changes altogether.

In this video, I take a closer look at what LightMake is building, compare it to other emerging multi-tool systems, and discuss the questions that still need to be answered before any of these machines become mainstream.
