How to Make RC Tires at Home | 3D Printed Molds
In this video, I will show you how to cast perfect RC truck tires at home using a 3d printed mold and 2 part silicone rubber.
This is a simple silicone casting process that lets you create soft, high-grip tires designed for scale realism, off-road traction, and improved performance compared to standard factory RC rubber tires.
You don’t need any expensive workshop equipment, vacuum chamber, or pressure pot. Instead, I’ll walk you through a clean, bubble-free molding method using basic tools and a 3D printed tire mold.
We’ll go step by step through the entire workflow: mold assembly, silicone mixing, pigment coloring, air bubble release during pot life, slow casting technique, curing time, and final demolding.
These custom RC tires are ideal for hobbyists who want better traction, more suspension flex, and a more realistic scale look for their RC trucks and crawlers.
