In this video, I use the Makera Z1 to machine an aluminum mounting adapter for the SmallRig TRIBEX CARBON II tripod.

The goal of this project is to achieve a clean final result without any manual post-processing after CNC machining, such as tab removal, deburring, tapping, or sanding.

To get the best possible appearance, I carefully planned the workholding method and used a total of 15 tools to improve finish quality and extend tool life.

Using 15 different tools would be quite challenging with a typical ER collet setup. However, the Makera Z1’s lever-style quick-change tool system made tool changes much easier. Its accurate probing, tool length measurement, and integration between the machine and software also helped reduce manual setup work, such as setting work origins. This made the overall workflow much smoother.
