5-Axis CNC Machining for Aerospace | DMG MORI DMC 75
We machined an aerospace component on the 5-axis @DMGMORI DMC 75 monoBLOCK, removing 97% of the material and taking the part from 27 lbs to 0.8 lbs while maintaining precision on thin walls and complex geometry. To avoid bending and chatter, we designed custom 3D-printed fixtures in-house to stabilize the part and control vibration during aggressive 5-axis toolpaths.
Additionally, we used Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) tools from @HornUSAinc , selected for clean, accurate cuts at high speed with long reach and tool clearance. Finally, the part was inspected on a Zeiss CMM to verify dimensional accuracy.
